Nitro distances itself from everything else in its class with boldly distinctive Dodge styling. It strikes a purposefully assertive stance fronted by the trademark Dodge crosshair grille, emblazoned with a hefty three-dimensional ram's head. The sculpted sides feature a deep-body section and high beltline, adding to Nitro´s brashly confident appearance. Bright vents on each front fender add to the vehicle's modern design and contemporary edge, while the short front and rear overhangs ­ not typical for a mid-size SUV ­ contribute to Nitro´s forceful expression.

Prominently mounted jewel-like rectangular headlamps wrap the front corners of Nitro, while beveled tail lamps and a lighted licence plate visor command attention from those behind you.

With its wheels pushed to the corners, Nitro holds the road with a wide stride. Massive wheel arches reinforce the aggressively confident stance. Standard on Nitro R/T* and optional on Nitro SLT are 20-inch tires* and chrome-clad cast aluminum wheels.

Nitro R/T* amps up the style spinning on big 20-inch* chrome-clad cast aluminum wheels. To keeps those heads turning, bodyside mouldings, front and rear fascias, wheel flares, grille surround and sill mouldings are all body colour.

The available UConnect™ Hands-Free Communication System uses Bluetooth™ technology to transfer calls between your Bluetooth-enabled cellular phone and Nitro´s onboard receiver. Using advanced voice recognition technology, UConnect allows you to make and receive calls completely hands-free. A dual element microphone in the rear view mirror picks up the vehicle occupant´s voice, while incoming calls are broadcast through Nitro´s radio speakers. Two buttons on the rear view mirror control the system. During use, UConnect commands are shown in the radio display.

Jam on.
Standard on Nitro is an AM/FM stereo radio with CD/MP3/MWA player and auxiliary input jack on the faceplate. An AM/FM stereo radio and integrated 6-disc CD/MP3/MWA changer is available.

Sound proof. On Nitro SLT and R/T, you can opt for an ∞ Infinity™ Premium Sound system with 8 speakers in 8 locations plus a subwoofer and 368 watts of power.

A versatile 65/35-split folding rear seat featuring a fold-flat and recline design is standard on all Nitro models.

The capacity to impress.
With the rear seats up, Nitro offers 909L (32.1 cu. ft) of cargo capacity. Fold the rear seats down and the possibilities really open up with a cavernous 1846L (65.2 cu. ft) of space. For the ultimate cargo capacity fold the rear seats and front passenger seat and get 2141L (75.6 cu. ft) of cargo capacity.*

Nitro SXT and SLT come standard with a 3.7L Magnum® V6, producing 210 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque. Go with Nitro R/T and go full throttle with a standard 4.0L SOHC V6*, pumping out 255 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque.

All geared up.
Nitro´s 3.7L Magnum® V6 is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or an available 4-speed automatic, while the available 4.0L SOHC V6* is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission for optimal torque and horsepower.

A standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts you when tires are improperly inflated. A message in the instrument cluster, "Tire Pressure Low," warns when a tire is less than 25% of the recommended pressure.

An Electronic Stability Program (ESP™) with Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), all speed traction control and Brake Assist is standard on all Nitro models. This system is designed to help maintain vehicle stability during emergency manoeuvres or accident avoidance situations*.
